Improvement of Acoustic Comfort in a Gym

Information about the project

Installed an acoustic panel system in a gym, with panel types, installation locations, and mounting methods selected using specialized acoustic simulation software. Prior to implementation, the space suffered from excessive reverberation, which caused discomfort for users and made communication difficult during sports activities.

In large-volume spaces such as gyms, unwanted room echo—reverberation—is a common issue caused by hard surfaces and large open areas. This phenomenon leads to increased noise levels, reduced speech clarity, and overall discomfort for occupants.

As part of this project, specialized acoustic panels designed to absorb unwanted sound waves were installed. By carefully selecting the appropriate panel types, placement, and installation method, the reverberation time of the gym was significantly reduced. The implemented solution improved acoustic comfort, enhanced communication, and created a more pleasant environment for sports and physical activities.
